Seminarium odbędzie się 11 grudnia 2024 r. o godzinie 14.00 w Instytucie Historii  PAN (Rynek St. Miasta 31, Sala Kościuszkowska)

Description:  This lecture examines patterns of incrimination in the Bologna inquisition register (1291–1310) using social network analysis. Employing Exponential Random Graph Models (ERGM) and Dynamic Network Actor Models (DyNAM), I analyze the influence of gender, social status and kinship ties on incrimination patterns, while controlling for trial circumstances and network structure. Findings highlight gendered dynamics offering insights into the complex interplay of social factors in medieval heresy trials.

Bio: Zoltan Brys is a computational social researcher specializing in social network analysis within the Dissident Networks Project (DISSINET), which examines medieval European dissident and inquisitorial cultures through computational methods. He teaches machine learning and social network analysis and is currently completing his PhD in Sociology at Semmelweis University.

Seminarium będzie prowadzone w języku angielskim.
