The Director of the Anthropos Doctoral School of Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, pursuant to § 1, paragraphs 4 and 5 of the Rules for Admission to the Anthropos Doctoral School of Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the academic year 2024/2025, announces as follows.
General information and admissions schedule
Admission to the Anthropos IPAN Doctoral School is carried out by open competition in two stages. Candidates who successfully pass the evaluation of the submitted documentation will be admitted to the interview.
The list of required documents is specified in § 5 of the aforementioned Admissions Rules. The documents should be sent from August 12 to September 1, 2024 by email at szkola.anthropos@ihpan.edu.pl.
Interviews will be held on September 23-27, 2024. Selected candidates will be informed of the date of the interview via email by September 20, 2024.Interviews may be conducted via electronic communication means.

Limit of admissions to particular institutes
For the 2024/2025 academic year, admissions to the School is conducted in the following disciplines or disciplines and subjects:
- Archeology in the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology PAN: 1 spot;
- Archeology in the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures PAN: 1 spot;
- Social-economic geography and spatial management: 1 spot (implementation of a research project within the Stanisław Leszczycki Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization PAN);
- History: 3 spots (implementation of a research project within the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History PAN: 2 spots; and 1 spot within the Birkenmajer Institute of the History of Science PAN);
- Literary studies: 2 spots (implementation of a research project within the Institute of Literary Research PAN);
- Religious and cultural studies: 1 spot (implementation of a research project within the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures PAN).
Application fee
The admissions application fee is PLN 150. Candidates should make payment to the account number of the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences: 04 1130 1017 0020 1463 2420 0002 (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, SWIFT code: GOSKPLPW), and in the title of the payment write “Anthropos admissions” as well as your first and last name.
* The personal data provided by the candidate is processed by the Data Administrator, i.e. the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Rynek Starego Miasta 31, 00-272 Warsaw, for the purposes of the recruitment process.
